Laurie Valder Mains

Laurie Valder Mains, 64, of Saanichton, BC, passed away peacefully in the morning sun in the garden outside the Palliative Care Unit at Saanich Peninsula Hospital on September 26th, 2018 with his favourite nurse Maggi and his sister-in-law Carolyn Mains (Craig) by his side.
Laurie was born in Carman, MB, on January 12, 1954.  He is survived by his loving Mother Oral Mains of Winnipeg, MB and his sons Jake Mains and Alex Mains of Victoria, BC. He was predeceased by his brother Craig Mains (Carolyn) in 2010.
Laurie worked for Canada Post for a number of years before becoming a Victoria realtor. He was passionate about music, playing the guitar, writing, and playing pool with friends at the Waddling Dog. He published 2 novels for teens.
At Laurie's request there will be no service.  There will be a private scattering of his cremated remains.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the Palliative Care Unit at Saanich Peninsula Hospital, especially Maggi and Dr. Lewis. Angels.
