Larry passed away at home in his sleep in the early morning hours of his 91st year. Born in Marysville NB to Clifford & Grace Sullivan, the eldest of three sons, James/Audrey, Malcolm/Kathy.

Known as Laurie on the east coast and Larry on the west coast, he joined the RCAF Medical Branch in 1954. The he transferred to RCAF Rockcliffe ON in 1956. This is where he met his wife Florence (Flo) and were married for 69 years. They had their daughter Tracy in Ottawa ON and transferred to Germany for fours years. This is where two more children were born, Kevin Lawrence and Peggy Susan.

They then returned to Canada in the early 1960’s and settled in Trenton ON. From there, numerous postings followed. There was Winnipeg MB, Edmonton AB, Yukon and back to St. Margarets NB. Special duty sent him to Resolute Bay, where as a 6B Medical Assistant he delivered two babies in the village. His wife Flo, was now in nurses’ training at the Misericordia School of Nursing. This is where the director of nursing assessed his military training and enrolled him into the nursing program. He was the first Med A to acquire his RN. Then began his journey to officer training. Thereafter transferring to Edmonton AB and then to Esquimalt BC.

He was an avid sports’ person and played in the senior baseball team for many years. He loved to curl too. He also loved to travel and visited many places.


Larry is survived by his wife Florence (Flo) of 69 years, daughter Tracy, son Kevin, grandchildren Sheri, Kassandra, Patrick, Kelsey, Rylie and five great-grandchildren Kingston, Violet, Penny, Maisy and Ireland, and one more who is on the way, plus many cousins on the east coast.
