Leslie Ann McLuhan

On Wednesday July 1st, 2026, Leslie McLuhan loving wife and mother to two children, passed away at the age of 68. Leslie was born to Frank and Ann (Ford) Longoz on Jan 24th 1958, Ann remarried Doug Larsson and Doug adopted Leslie. Leslie was working at the Country Kitchen when she went on a blind date and met her future husband Michael McLuhan in 1981. Her and Michael dated and then eventually married on October 9th, 1982. Leslie became pregnant with her first child and left the Country Kitchen to become a stay at home mom. On January 9th, 1985 Matthew Michael McLuhan entered the world, followed just 19 months later their daughter Jessica Ann McLuhan was born on August 25th, 1986. Leslie and Michael raised their children in Sidney BC, then moved to Saanichton BC and finally Victoria BC.

Leslie along with her husband Michael, were able to walk their daughter Jessica down the aisle to marry Christopher Baer on September 30th, 2016. Leslie, along with Michael and Matthew enjoyed life until Michael passed away on September 21st, 2021.

Leslie picked herself up, dusted herself off and continued to enjoy life, spending time with her family, going to church and helping her community in various ways.

Leslie was then diagnosed with lymphoma and underwent chemo, she made it through with a smile on her face, then just 2 years later she was diagnosed with endometrial cancer and underwent radiation. She once again made it through with strength. In November 2025, Leslie developed a cough that wouldn't go away, doctors were working on figuring out what was going on, when she passed away peacefully at home on July 1st 2026.

She is survived by her son Matthew, daughter Jessica, Son in law Chris, Sister Julie, brother in law Steven, Sister in law Janet, neice Heidi and nephew Tim.

Our appreciation to all the doctors and nurses at BC Cancer Agency, Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria General Hospital, Ocean Pier Medical Centre, Pacific Hematology and Lifetime Eye care for all their help with Leslie's medical care over the years.
