Linda Irene Dixon

Passed away early in the morning November 9th, 2021 due to complications from cancer. Linda was born in Vancouver on March 25, 1948 to father John and mother Margaret and had an older sister Sharon and brother Brian who predeceased her. Linda lost her parents at an early age and was moved to the island to live with her Uncle Ralph and Aunt Audrey. Upon graduation Linda entered the nursing program at the Royal Jubilee Hospital where she met her future husband Gary who was working in the hospital. Linda left the nursing program at RJH and became a lab technician, a job she held for close to 30 years. Linda was actively involved with the Jaycettes and all the community projects that entailed. Linda’s number one focus throughout her life was her family. Linda had two children Bruce and Stephen, and was an amazing and loving mother and did everything possible to ensure that they had the stable home life with mom and dad that she was not fortunate enough to grow up with. Linda was active in little league baseball and was the president of Oak Bay Little League. Linda was always on the sideline for soccer games Bruce and Stephen played, and later was often seen following them around the golf course. Later in life, Linda’s focus became making sure she spent as much quality time as she could with family and friends. It was with great sorrow that Linda was predeceased by husband Gary in April of 2015 and son Stephen in May of 2013. Linda is survived by her son Bruce, his wife Jill; daughter-in-law Andrea; and granddaughters Anna, Molly and Kate.

As most of you know, Linda always loved Christmas and her annual Christmas party, and as such we will be having a celebration of life Christmas party in her honour on Saturday, December 11th from 2-5pm at Bruce and Jill’s family home at 1492 Eric Road. Please join us.
