Lisa was predeceased by her father John in 2006.Lisa was born in Calgary, AB on July 11, 1970. She and her parents moved to Vernon, when she was 3 weeks old. Lisa completed all of her early education in Vernon as well as first year Of university. This was followed by a Batchelor of Science from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. Later she completed a Diploma in Environmental Technology at Royal Rhodes in Victoria, BC. She loved learning and took many courses in Communications as well. Lisa worked at many jobs during her lifetime but she loved her jobs in Communications with the the provincial government . She was do proud of achieving her goal to become a director of Communications.Lisa was an enthusiastic fitness buff. She loved running and participated in many races including the Sun Run in Vancouver. She was an avid hiker and camper. She was most proud of having hiked the West Coast Trail. She loved swimming, and golfing and tried many forms of Yoga.Lisa met her husband Mike in Victoria. They were introduced by mutual friends in 1997. They immediately fell in love and were together ever since. They were married in Lisas hometown of Vernon on July 26, 2006. Mike was Lisas biggest fan throughout their marriage and was at her side throughout her illness. Lisa had a large circle of friends dating back to preschool. They are too numerous to mention although some very close ones include Sam, Kerri, Martha, and Nicole. Although they often lived in different cities Sam talked to Lisa several times a day. Others drove her to appointments and treatments and delivered her favorite treats on a daily basis. You know who you are and we are eternally grateful for your care and love. One of her favorite things was going out for breakfast. Mike says she was the equivalent of ' Norm from Cheers' and when it came to certain breakfast establishments 'everybody knew her name'. Lisa loved cats. She and Mike had several unique ones throughout the years. The current two, Fred and Wilma, were a constant source of entertainment and were brightened her days especially during times when she could not be out and about.Sincere thanks go to her many doctors especially Dr. Sharon Allen and Dr. Judith Finlayson. The nurses and staff at the Cancer Center have been unfailingly kind and supportive from Day One. As her mother Lisa and I shared many interests including a love of reading. I will miss our chats about our current books. We shared a love for shoes and handbags the larger the better. I do regret that we never got to travel together. Love you forever! Mom
