Lorne Donald Pollock
June 19, 1947 — September 14, 2019
Lorne Donald Pollock passed away September 14, 2019 at his home on Bear Mountain with family at his side. Lorne is finally at peace following a difficult journey with Parkinson's Disease.
Lorne was born to Lorne and Muriel Pollock on June 19 th , 1947 in Comox BC. The Pollock family later moved to Nanaimo. It was there Lorne developed his love of the game of golf. He claimed he grew up on the Nanaimo Golf Course. Lorne eventually settled in Victoria and due to failing health retired in 2014 from a long career as a Commercial Insurance Broker.
Lorne is survived by many who loved him. He will be greatly missed by his precious daughter Tara (Marty) who he fondly referred to as TP, the light of his life; sister Marilyn and her children, Garth (Loyola), Jeff, Colleen (Mark); brother Gerry (Colleen) and their daughters Erin (Niall) and Jenna (Brodie).
His loving wife and soulmate Ev and her children, Steve Pearce (Alicia), Marnie Watkin (Trevor), and grandchildren Braedan, Ashley, Kate and Matthew will dearly miss this wonderful caring man whose incredible wit made us laugh out loud every day. Sister-in-law Jeannie Haslett (Ron) and their family will also fondly remember him.
Lorne will be forever remembered not only for his uncanny wit but also his gift for trivia, related to sports, history, politics or music.
Lorne was also a hockey enthusiast and he was proud to tell people that as a volunteer for the Commonwealth Games in 1994, he had the opportunity to drive Bobby Orr to the airport.
Lorne's family is very grateful for the incredible support received by Dr. Tom Bailey, the Victoria Hospice Palliative Response Team, and friends who were there for us during the last weeks of Lorne's life. We will never forget what you did for us.
Lorne's Life will be celebrated at the Bear Mountain Westin Hotel Ballroom, October 6 th at 2:00 pm.
If desired, in memory of Lorne, donations may be made to Victoria Hospice, Parkinson's Canada Research or a charity of choice.
