Lynn Mary Kirstin Alisun

d. December 6, 2020

Lynn Alisun (Thibodeau) passed away unexpectedly in December 2020. Lynn was a devoted and loving mother to Mary, sister to Nancy and Gail (Alan), and aunt to Jason, Amanda, Christian and Seeley. Originally from Montreal, Quebec, Lynn came out West with her parents Madeline and Leo in the early 1980s. Perfectly bilingual, Lynn enjoyed practicing her French at any opportunity - especially with tourists visiting Victoria.
Lynn loved swimming - both in the ocean and at the local recreation centers - and going on walks near her home, stopping to say hello to lounging neighbourhood cats. In her younger days Lynn also enjoyed playing tennis and water-skiing at Expo '67 in Montreal.
Lynn will be remembered for her dance moves, writing skills, sense of humour, and deep kindness. Lynn will also be remembered by her daughter for her amazing strength as a single mother and her ability to advocate for herself and others. Although not of significant financial means, Lynn was incredibly generous during her lifetime, and would have surely given her last dollar away if someone else needed it more than her. A truly empathetic soul, Lynn believed that no one should ever be homeless or hungry. Lynn also enjoyed volunteering, and spent much time assisting people with visual impairments to get around the city of Victoria on transit.
We know that if there is an afterlife, Lynn is enjoying it fully and in good health. To honour Lynn's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private ceremony will be carried out by her daughter. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Place Society at https://www.ourplacesociety.com/donate or Health Justice BC: https://www.healthjustice.ca/take-action or by clicking on donations in the left menu.
