Lynne Marie Andrews

Lynne Marie Andrews, 76, of North Saanich, passed away on July 06, 2022, after a short battle with Covid.  Her many pre-existing health conditions prevented her from using one of her nine lives to bounce back from this.  Lynne was born on January 16, 1946, to Frank and Elnore Burger in Calgary, Alberta. After graduating from Mount Doug in 1963, Lynne went on to study keyboarding at the IBM School of Business (of which she was immensely proud of achieving). She loved playing basketball, skiing and swimming throughout high school. She gave back to her community by volunteering with the Hospice in Port Hardy.

In 1963, she met Mark, and they wed in 1964, going on to have five children, Bart, Elnore, Katherine, Joseph, and Mark John. Lynne travelled and shopped the world, but some of her happiest times were spent in Indonesia with Frank and Elaine (Sharon and Tracey-Lee) She loved the socialising and having a local assistant to help out.

Family was everything to her and informed her entire life. Lynne decided to dedicate her life to being a warm and wonderful mother. She had five children and Lynne excelled at making every event a special occasion for them. Lynne ensured the walls at her house were elastic and there was room for everyone.  Whether supporting her children and their friends or her nieces and nephews through life, or supporting Mark through his passion for Lucky Lager, Lynne made it her priority to enhance the lives of her family.

Lynne was a passionate amateur genealogist and took great pleasure in sharing her knowledge. When she wasn’t filling the home with photos, slides, baking and recipes, she could be found demanding that Mark attend to her every whim. We miss her presence greatly in our lives already, she was a stabilising presence in our family.

Lynne’s greatest pleasure these last couple years were her grandchildren and her grand-dogs. Her beloved grandson Maverick brought joy to her life with his thoughtfulness and wry humour, she lived for his daily conversations and found great comfort in the pups coming for their toast in the morning.

Lynne was predeceased by her parents Frank and Elnore, her eldest brother Frank and her sister Lois. Lynne is survived by her husband Mark, daughters Elnore (Zarah, Goose) and Katherine (Maverick), sons Bart, Joesph, Mark John (Taylor, Mark) and siblings Darris (Lou, Jolee, Leeanne), Brian (Mercedes, Rachel) and Shannon (Patty, Alexis, Frank) and the rest of the Andrews family who she loved to investigate with her genealogy work.

Forever loved, always remembered, she will be greatly missed by her family and those who knew her.
