Margaret Elizabeth (Peggy) Copithorne died peacefully, comforted by family on Oct 25 2025.
Loving mother, sister, friend, grandmother, and great grandmother she will be missed.
See was born March 27,1937 to Richard and Muriel Philp in Montreal Quebec.
She was raised in Calgary and was a active Nurse working both in Edmonton and International hospitals.
Her travels as a nurse took her first to Hawaii, Australia, India and finally to England.
Once her travel days were over, in 1962 she married Claude William (Bill) Copithorne in Calgary AB and had their first son Shaun in Dec 1962 followed by Mark in 1964.
Always active as a volunteer with the Red Cross, she continued giving to the community.
In 1984 Peggy and Bill relocated to the Rimbey area where they enjoyed farming, Peggy was on the COOP board of directors, active artisan with her pewter miniature business (Copithorne Enterprises), until Bills death in 1996. It was in Rimbey that Peggy became interested in making and enjoying wine!
She stayed at the Rimbey farm until 2005, active with the Coop until she moved to Sidney BC, to explore again.
She was a active member of the Waters Edge Strata until again relocating to the Berwick Royal Oak facility in November of 2022.
Always out going and never afraid of a good debate, she lived her life to the fullest, loved a good drink and a spirited discussion to the end. A fiercely loyal friend even in a heated discussion.
Peggy was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1996 and her son Shaun in 2018.
She lived her life to the fullest and was always eager for adventure.
We will miss her.
