Mary Catherine MacGregor, affectionately known as Cathie, passed away on April 4, 2024, in Victoria, BC, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion. Born on January 12, 1957, in Prince George, BC, Cathie was the eldest daughter of the late Alex and Joan MacGregor. She is survived by her brothers, Larry White and John MacGregor, and her sister, Joanne Weatherall. Also survived by her much loved son, Keltan James Roth.
Cathie was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of everyone she met. Her vibrant personality and infectious laughter earned her the endearing nickname "Chatty Cathie." She had a natural gift for storytelling and could captivate an audience with her tales. History, both personal and global, held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in sharing fascinating facts and anecdotes with her friends and family.
Her love for animals was boundless, and she became a devoted pet sitter, forming deep connections with the furry companions she cared for. She cherished the unique personalities of each pet and delighted in sharing their endearing antics with those around her. Her compassion extended beyond animals, as she always found ways to lend a helping hand to friends in need. Cathie's generous spirit and unwavering kindness will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held in July to honor Cathie's memory and the impact she had on the lives of so many. The date, time, and location of the celebration will be announced in the near future, providing an opportunity for family and friends to come together and pay tribute to a remarkable woman who brought joy and warmth to all who knew her.
