Neil left us suddenly and unexpectedly on January 13 in Victoria, BC. He was born in Port Arthur, Ontario, moving to the Vancouver area as a boy where he attended North Surrey Senior Secondary School. An unassuming and gentle spirit, Neil was a pure and kind hearted man who took pleasure in music, art, nature and spending time with those he loved. Neil was an accomplished musician, a passion he developed at an early age with his sister Geri. He had a special way with children and those who grew up around him remember being serenaded by his songs, laughing hysterically at his "Donald Duck" routine and being soothed by his voice and gentle demeanor when they were having a bad day. In the last years of his life, Neil found true love with his soulmate Brenda Lee, with whom he spent his days living life to its fullest, playing music, hiking, traveling and spending time with family and friends. His great pride and joy was his granddaughter Sophia, whom he loved and adored for five incredible years. He leaves behind his loving partner Brenda Lee, her children Lyle and Lydia; his beloved granddaughter Sophia; daughters Naomi, and Nicole; brother Jim and sisters Geri, Darlene and Alexina, and a myriad of nephews and nieces, and friends. His departure from this earth has left a great hole in our hearts. We take comfort that he has joined a symphony of angels where there is no pain and the music never ends.
