Norman David Bourne (Dave), Age 69, Passed peacefully on June 27th at Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, BC surrounded by his family.
Born October 9, 1947 in Victoria, BC to Norman Leslie Bourne and Rose Patricia (Smith) Bourne. Twin of Peter and Brother to Brian, Sharie, Arlyne and Roland. He was raised in Victoria and Halifax. Norman served in the Queen's Own Rifles and worked in the Logging, Mining and Oil industries, before Studying Culinary arts at Vancouver Community College. Norman Married Betty Ann Jessie Mary (Harrop) Bourne January 4th, 1992 in Abbotsford BC. Norman and Betty raised two children, Brandon and Barb Bourne in Vancouver, Dawson Creek and Victoria BC.
Norman found pleasure camping, fishing and cooking. In his later years he enjoyed photography, painting being outdoors in nature and spending time with his immediate and extended family and friends. Often he could be found resting in the sun at in Selkirk Village and dining with friends in the neighboring restaurants and Pro Patria Legion. In his later years Norman had an enduring struggle with a multitude health problems that he refused to let slow him down. The family is grateful they could be at his side during his passing and that he got to enjoy his fast paced active independance until he passed. He will be missed by many. In place of flowers, donations can be made to the Victoria Chapter of the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
