Patricia Helen Laing

Pat passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospice after fighting a short, but courageous battle with cancer. She will be missed by her loving family including daughters Heather (Ivan), Colleen (Kerry), grandchildren Christy (Gord), Kody, Kerry, Taylor and Megan, great-grandchildren Kerry and Lily and her sister Hannah, as well as her many niece, nephews and cousins. Pat was born in Edmonton, Alberta and worked for over 25 years at Alberta Hospital Edmonton. After retiring, she moved to Victoria in 1999 to spend time with her grandchildren. Pat also became very active 18 years ago with the Juan de Fuca Senior Association taking part in activities including chair yoga, hand and foot, Euchre, Mah Jong, and Tai Chi. She also took part in a walking club and was a member of the Magenta Madams (aka the Red-Hats). Pat led a very happy life spending time with her family and enjoying her active social life.  Pat developed many close friendships throughout her life.We will all feel the loss of a mother, grandmother and friend.
Our family wishes to thank the incredibly compassionate staff at the Victoria Hospice and requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Victoria Hospice.
A celebration of life will be held at the Langford Legion on August 16th, 2018 from 2-4.  Everyone is welcome.
