Paul Wayne Bunyan

November 14, 1944- January 5, 2023

We are heartbroken to announce that Paul Wayne Bunyan, our dear Dad passed away in the evening of January 5th 2023 at the age of 78 after suffering a stroke November 22, 2023. He is predeceased by parents Myrtle and George, brothers Robert, Barry, Morris and sisters Beverly and Jo-Ann. He will be forever missed by his children Danielle (Robert), Paul Jr. (Sue), Dale, grandchildren Jackson and Daelyn. Survived by brother Lorne (Shirley) as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Born in Vancouver, he moved with his family to Gordon head in the 50s. He attended Mount Douglas before going to work for his dad (a master tile setter) with his brothers. He learned the trade, married, had 3 children then took over the reigns of the family business. He worked on many large commercial projects and was truly a master of his craft. He carried on the family tradition and in the early 90's, worked with his 2 daughters until his retirement. A major, unwavering Toronto Maple Leafs fan, he kept busy throughout his retirement, always had a hand in something and seemed to be in the know about worldly and communal events. He was kind and thoughtful and the world is a little less interesting without dad in it.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel at the Royal Oak Burial Park on Thursday, January 19th at 11am followed by burial. If you knew him, you are welcome to join us.
