CERETTI, Paul Michael
May 7, 1958 - May 8, 2025
It is with great sadness the friends of Paul Michael Ceretti announce his passing after his strong battle with cancer on Wednesday May 8th, at the age of 67. Paul will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends across parts of Canada and the USA.
Born on PEI, in 1958 he was one of 6. Son of the late Henry and Peggy (MacDonald) Ceretti and predeceased by his brothers John (1967), and James (2015). Survived by sisters Norma (Verne 2022), Paula (Eugene) and Pam (Robbie) and many nephews and nieces. Paul was thrilled that “ALL” three of his sisters came out to Vancouver Island with their escorts in 2024 following Paul’s diagnosis. The ‘Vancouver Island family’ felt privileged to meet them.
Paul left PEI as a young man and worked for the Railway in Prince George several years before returning to postsecondary education for dental hygiene. He felt he had found his true calling and landed in Duncan, where he spent the rest of his years meeting so many wonderful people. He had a gregarious and outgoing nature in the world and loved so many outdoor sports and activities and more recently growing vegetables. He was an amazing chef and said it was his love language for family and friends and jumped at any opportunity to cook for them.
His personality was magnetic and contagious with a sense of humor, warmth, and curiosity. Paul was a generous friend and possessed an uncanny ability to connect to just about anyone. With the outpouring of care, support and condolences during and following his illness it is clear he will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
Please plant a tree or shrub in his name, as he lay in rest himself, to go back to the earth. There will be an informal gathering to celebrate Paul's life TBA.
