Paul Alan Delong

It is with profound sadness and loss that we announce the unexpected death of our nephew Paul Alan DeLong, of heart failure at age 59 in Calgary, AB on May 11th, 2017.

Alan was a creative, enterprising spirit dedicated to helping others and giving back to society. He gained early work experience in retail through the family business, Cavalier China, and Gift Shops in Alberta. He also developed a passion and keen eye for photography which he pursued while living in Banff and Lake Louise. An avid Calgary Flames fan, he was well versed and knowledgeable about the game of hockey which he played and excelled at during his youth. When it came to politics, his wicked sense of humor was always evident whenever the topic arose. Alan, also known as Big Al, was a long-standing Computer Lab volunteer with The Salvation Army in Calgary. He will be remembered by those whose lives he touched during his too brief time on this earth. His gentle soul, positive nature and selflessness are remembered with love by his family and close friends.
