It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paula Fogelklou, loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend, on December 2, 2012 at the age of 69. Beloved daughter of Alfred and Rose Bauman (deceased), Paula is survived by her sons Christopher (Johanna), Tony (Jaclyn), grandsons Noah and Elliott, and by family, Klas (Gail), brothers Robert, Vincent (Diane), Alan; sisters Marguerite Reinhart and Rosemary Morgan (Gerard, deceased). Predeceased by brothers Gilbert, Jerome, Ronald (Mary Jane), Leroy, Paul; sisters Audrey Colon and Kathleen Haller. Also survived by sisters-in-law Patricia (Jerome), Sally Anne (Gilbert), Margaret (Leroy), brothers-in-law Jose Colon (Audrey), Paul Haller (Dianne), and by her many nieces and nephews. Paula was born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario. She moved to the west coast, married, and eventually settled in Victoria with her family in 1988. An active member of the congregation of St. Josephs the Worker, she loved singing with the Arbutus Choir and devoted many hours to volunteer work at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Paula touched the lives of everyone she met and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Funeral Mass followed by a celebration of her life will be held at St. Joseph the Worker, 753 Burnside Road West, Victoria, on Saturday, December 8th at 12:00 noon. Children are welcome. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for all the love and support Paula received over the past few months, with particular mention going to Pat and Jeanette Bowman, who gave so generously of their time, and to Peter Hawksford, for his devoted companionship. Special thanks to the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Victoria Hospice, who showed such compassion and kindness towards Paula and her family during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Victoria Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation in Paulas memory. Please click on Memorial Gift for their link.
