Peggy Marie Robertson (nee Ward) slipped away peacefully at Victoria hospice on April 14th, 2017. Predeceased by her brother Donald, father Franklyn and mother Dorothy. Beloved mother to Ken (Sandi) and Christine (Trevor). Precious Grammie and Nana to Monika, Amanda, Cassie, Luca and Stella. Sister to Stanford, Barbara (Leonard), Betty (Jeff) and Beverly (Arthur). A friend to many. Born in Berwick Nova Scotia on September 15th 1946, Peggy grew up in Melvern Square and spent many years of her life in the Annapolis V alley. Returning to school as an adult, she studied stenography at Kingstec school, and referred to the experience many times as, "one of the best years of my life." Shortly after graduation she began her career as a medical secretary in New Minas, Nova Scotia. In 1990 she packed up her house and headed west, settling into the Comox Valley where she lived, worked and played until her retirement from her career as a medical office manager in 2010. Shortly after retirement, she packed up and moved again. This time settling in Victoria, BC to spend time with her littlest grandchildren and probably their parents, too....but let's face it, mostly the kids! Mum had a zest for life and wasted no time in getting out to see the world after she retired. She travelled often and with unparalleled enthusiasm, and her passport supports this. A vibrant woman who loved gardening, going out for high tea, buying shoes and trying new wines, Mum was taken from us way too soon. We will think of her every time we see a butterfly fluttering in the garden or hear the song of a hummingbird. We will miss her forever. Special thanks from Peggy's children to the many family, friends and neighbours who have kept us all afloat during the stormiest days. Thank you for being our village. As per Mum's wishes there will be no service. Donations can be made to The Victoria Hospice Society in her honour.
