Peter James Ward

June 25, 1945 — March 8, 2018

Peter James Ward, born June 25, 1945 - died March 8, 2018
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Peter Ward. Native of South East London. As a young athlete he excelled at soccer and squash. As a young Mod he loved music and touring on his scooter. As a Machinist he traveled and worked in Europe, the Middle East, India, South Africa and Australia. In 1971 Peter immigrated to Canada with stops in NWT, Quebec and Banff. In 1973 he moved to Victoria and worked at UVic until retirement.  He enjoyed many friendships playing golf at Cedar Hill Golf Club. Peter's best scores were his marriage in 1992 to Mary and the birth of their son Brenden. They and his pal, Karma, mourn but know he is in a better place. He leaves two sisters, brother and extended family in England and lifelong friends in Canada, England and Australia. His generosity and a willingness to always muck-in and help friends was high on his priorities. Volunteering walking dogs for many years for the SPCA also featured high on his agenda. Many local friends will miss his friendship and talks over a pint or two - sharing laughter,  political remedies‎ and countless dog experiences.

For three years Peter courageously endured a rare progressive neurological disease. He will always be fondly remembered.
