POMERLEAU, Pierre
July 05, 1957 - April 09, 2026
On April 9, 2026, Pierre Pomerleau passed away after a short illness.
Pierre will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Victoria Pomerleau; his siblings Richard Goulet (Laura), Daniel Pomerleau (Eileen), and Lise Pomerleau (Terry Tongue); his dear friend Barbara Marriott; Victoria’s mother, Joni Mitchell; and many other relatives and friends.
Pierre was predeceased by his parents, Andre and Jacqueline Pomerleau, and his bothers, Robert Goulet and Michel Pomerleau.
Born in Sudbury, Ontario and raised in Ottawa, Pierre had a long career as a truck driver, and then as a bus driver and customer service agent for BC Transit.
Pierre graduated from the photography program at the Western Pacific Academy of Photography in Victoria BC in the 1990s. He specialized in landscape, nature, portrait, and documentary photography. He leaves behind a legacy of thousands of photographic images in several formats.
After retiring in 2019, Pierre applied his natural ability with golf and racket sports to lawn bowling and croquet. He was a member of the Victoria Bowls and Croquet Club, where he also maintained the greens and the clubhouse. His many friends at the clubhouse will miss his enthusiasm and dedication.
A celebration of life will be held at the Victoria Bowls and Croquet Club, 160 Nursery Road (off Cook Street and Park Blvd), on Sunday, May 3, from 1:00-4:00pm.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to Victoria Hospice (victoriahospice.org).
