Randolph Charles 'Randy' Gilbert

October 3, 1976 — July 9, 2017

Randy Gilbert was born on October 3, 1976 in Sarnia, Ontario. He passed away suddenly on July 9, 2017. Randy is survived by his life partner Christina Jourdain , his son Jayden Gilbert, his daughter Taysha Hackwell, his mother Kathleen Gilbert (Wicks), father Larry Gilbert, his two brothers David James Gilbert of Victoria and Michael Patrick Gilbert of Toronto. He also leaves behind many loving Aunts , Uncles and cousins in BC, Ontario and PEI. Randy adored his son Jayden.
Camping was his favorite past-time. He was trained as a welder and worked in auto body shops painting cars and trucks. Randy's totem was the wolf. Like his totem, Randy was intelligent and resourceful. He believed strongly in his family and took every opportunity to show his love to everyone. Randy was generous to a fault. He would help anyone who needed help even if by helping them, he went without. Randy was an angel as a child; he will be a guardian angel for his son today and forever.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The Celebration will occur at the Esquimalt United Church on the corner of Admirals and Lyall Streets in Esquimalt.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to Our Place on Pandora Street in Victoria.
