Rita Beatrice Bell

December 1, 2019 — December 19, 2019

Rita , born in London England , she was one of 9 children born to Rose and Fred Norman . She served in the Royal Air Force during WW2 as a wireless operator , sending off airmen to war zones and bringing them home safely . She married Ivan Bell in February 1947 . They lived in Thenford , a little village in the midlands of England , where their only child Sue was born . Due to conditions in England after the war they immigrated to Rhodesia in Central Africa. Where they lived happily for almost 40yrs . Due to political pressure they left Rhodesia and immigrated to Canada . They started off in Ontario, and then moved over to Victoria , British Columbia several years later, where they lived for over 40yrs . They bought property in Sooke and lived happily there till their senior years , when they moved back into Victoria . They lived happily back in Victoria till Ivan died in 2016 . Rita continued to live happily for another 3 years , but God called her home on Thursday 19th December 2019 . She was 98yrs old . She lived a remarkable life , she worked hard , and played hard . Both Rita and Ivan enjoyed travelling , and visited a large number of countries , enjoying each and every experience ! Rita was a most loving, outgoing person , embracing everyone and everything that came her way . She had a positive attitude , and found the very best in anything and everything ! She is survived by her daughter Sue , her grandchildren Karen and Antony , and her great grandchildren Tristan , Amber , Sky and Savannah ! Goodbye Mom ! Thank You for all that you have taught me , you have been a wonderful role model ! I will miss you , but cannot mourn your death , I celebrate your life ! Sadly we didn't get to celebrate your 100th birthday ,that we were busy planning , but know that you will be celebrating in heaven ! Love you Mom !
