Robert Thomas Bennett

Bob moved to a kinder, softer place for his soul, passing peacefully on March 11, 2026 with family by his side.

Born and raised in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia and later Toronto, Ontario, where he met his wife Sherry, with whom he shared 64 years. Together they raised their daughters Nichelle and Kymbralee and son Chris, later welcoming grandchildren Alexander and Tia.

‘Go west, young man,’ and so they did. Moving from the East to the West, Bob and Sherry relocated to Victoria, BC, in 2016, where Bob lived to celebrate his 84th birthday. Bob will be missed by all who carry his stories forward, especially remembering his love for reading and his joy in woodworking and crafting.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caregivers and staff at Mt St Mary Hospital, all who supported Bob with care and compassion and offers special thanks to Dr. Peter Neweduk.

To honour Bob’s wishes, there will not be a formal service.
