Robert Douglas Dunlop

June 1, 1923 — October 12, 2017

Bob was born 9 June,1923 in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan. He served in the Air Force during WWII stationed out of Newfoundland. After the war he received his degree in Forestry Engineering at UBC. He spent several years working in the oil industry in Saskatchewan and Alberta before returning to forestry in BC in 1964. He retired from BC Hydro in 1983 and spent many of the following years involved with the United church and volunteering for a variety of organizations. After living in Coquitlam for 48 years he moved to Victoria in 2012 to be closer to family. He is survived by his wife Helene, son Gordon (Barb), daughter Melinda (Jim), grandchildren Angela, Eric, Chloe and Garrett, sister Lois, nieces Jan and Sheila and nephew Bruce. Bob spent his last few years at Selkirk and Broadmead Lodges. Thanks to all who cared for him with such loving kindness and compassion. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Bob's name to the charity of your choice. A combined memorial service will be held with his Broadmead Lodge family on 8 Dec, 2017 at 1:30 pm in the Oak Room.
