Robert Jonas

Robert Jonas, 75, passed away in Victoria, BC on February 10, 2013. Born on December 18, 1937, in Budapest, Hungary, Robert married his soul mate, Julianna, in 1957 in Munich, Germany. That year they would relocate to Victoria, BC, Canada where they started their family together. Beginning in 1969, Robert worked for both MacNutt Enterprises and the Municipality of Saanich, first as a garbage collector and, eventually driving a dump truck for Saanich until he retired in 2003. Robert liked to travel to his homeland and to Las Vegas. He liked to go fishing, hunting, and camping with his family and friends and enjoyed watching hockey. Robert is survived by the love of his life, Julianna, his wife of nearly 56 years, his son Rob (Denise), and his daughter Erika of Victoria, BC. He is also survived by his grandchildren Greg, Dustin (Karina), Sonia, Lisa, Robert, great-grandchildren, and family in Hungary. As per his request there will not be a memorial service.
