Robert Noel Moysey

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Bob Moysey on September 15, 2026, in Victoria, BC. He was surrounded by the love, comfort, and presence of his family in his final days.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sharon; children Carly (Brian) Haugen, Brooke (Beverley), Drew, and Laura (Ryan); eight granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers Rod and Steve (Diana), brothers-in-law Rob (Janet) and Geoff (Corinne), and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Janet.

Born on August 19, 1945, in Calgary, AB, to Kirby and Evelyn Moysey, Bob moved with his family to Victoria a few years later. He graduated from Oak Bay High School in 1963, earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Victoria in 1967, and completed his Master of Business Administration at Queen’s University in 1969. He achieved his Chartered Accountant designation in 1971.

Bob enjoyed a rich, varied, and entrepreneurial professional career. While it began and ended in public accounting practice, he also ventured into real estate development, property management, and high-end home and automotive audio. He loved the challenge of creating novel solutions to complex business problems, always holding himself and his teams to the highest standards of excellence and integrity.

Bob was known for his dry wit, though he was also quick with groaner Dad jokes and puns. His happiest moments were spent with his family. They will treasure their memories of camping and ski trips; gathering for games and a barbeque in the backyard; Christmas in Hawaii; and others too numerous to list. He and Sharon indulged their shared enthusiasm for nature and photography on many road trip adventures through Canadian and American national parks.

His other life-long passion was sports. He was a dedicated follower of the CFL, MLB, and NHL. He played all manner of sports, including curling, skiing, golf, soccer, baseball, ice hockey, and floor hockey. His impressive sporting career ended when, at the age of 79, he retired from the weekly floor hockey group he ran for over 45 years.

A strong believer in giving back, Bob served as a long-term board member for BGC South Vancouver Island (formerly the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Victoria). In 2013, his decades of community dedication were recognized when he was honoured with a Volunteer Service Award by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC.

The family will celebrate Bob’s life in a private gathering later this fall. They know he is watching us all while relaxing in his recliner, with a smile on his face and an endless playlist of his favourite music, waiting to be together again.
