Robert Norman Wright

January 15, 1931 — November 8, 2016

Robert (Bob) Norman Wright
Jan. 15, 1931- Nov. 8, 2016 Sadly, on Nov. 8, 2016, Bob passed away in Victoria General Hospital after sustaining life-threatening injuries from a fall from a ladder. He leaves behind to mourn his wife Stella of 11 years, his daughters Nancy (Jason Easton) and their son Luke, and Sharon and her sons Adam and Evan, and step-children Drew, Gillian and her sons Devin and Neil. Bob was a Port Moody Firefighter until his retirement at the rank of Captain in 1991. Born in Edmonton, raised in Edson during the great depression, he understood hardship and showed caring and kindness to many people in his lifetime. He and his wife of 49 years, Betty (née Readman) started building a home in Port Moody in 1959. Bob was a man of many talents. He was always happiest when occupied and was willing to lend a hand to help his neighbours at any time. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, woodworking, travelling and barbecuing, especially salmon. After the passing of his first wife Betty, Bob met Stella (formerly Wild) and a new chapter of his life unfolded. Together they bought a 40' boat, the Gypsy Lass, fulfilling a life long dream. Moving to Ladner, BC, in 2006 they travelled often, sharing their new life together. Bob was loved devotedly by all his family and will be sadly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring, date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC S.P.C.A. Provincial Office at 1245 East 7th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V5T 1R1, or charity of your choice.
