Passed away on July 11, 2018. He leaves behind his beloved wife Bea, his 3 children Sandra (Myron), George (Susie) and Lois, grandchildren Daniel and Jessica, and 3 greatgrandchildren.
He also leaves behind his two sisters, Heather and Shirley. Rodger immigrated to Canada with his parents when he was a wee lad from Barrhead, Scotland. They made their home in Meskanaw, Saskatchewan. The family made their way to Victoria where Rodger met Bea in 1950 and they later wed in 1955.
He worked for H E Fowler and Son and Pacific Pile Driving. Thereafter, Rodger formed his own company Rodger Traill Limited, General Contractor for both residential and commercial construction.
Unfortunately, he had to retire early due to health reasons. He had a quick wit about him and loved to make people laugh. He was always up for a good time and truly enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He very much enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering. He truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rodger was a good father and provider. He was generous to a fault. Later in life Rodger suffered from cognitive impairment which did not portray him as his best self. This was very difficult on him, his wife and his family. We choose to remember Rodger in a different light than that portrayed by the media in regards to his sudden passing. We hope you do the same.
A private celebration of life will be held at the Olive Grove restaurant on West Saanich Rd., July 22, 2018 from 1-3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
We love you Dad and will miss you very much!
Until we meet again.
