Rosemary Margaret Schoderbeck

February 1, 2009 — November 17, 2012

Peggy passed away peacefully on November 17th after struggling with many serious health concerns. Born in Wadena, Saskatchewan, Peggy moved with her parents and sister to Victoria in the mid 1930s. Predeceased by her husbands Sandy Wotherspoon (1950) and Ray Schoderbeck (2006). Survived by her children Alex Wotherspoon (Joan), Marilyn Quenet (Robin), and Sylvia Kirby (Howard); grandchildren Kimberley, Carolyn (Curt Kimber) & Theresa Wotherspoon, Daryl (Andrea) & Matthew Quenet, and Jillian & Brian Benton; great grandchildren Kaylyn & Kiera Quenet; sister Lois McLean, Diana Baker (Steve) & Ed McLean (Deb) and their families; Bill (Barb), Don & Paul (Eileen) Wotherspoon and their families; and the Bergeron family. Her favourite leisure activities were family gatherings, gardening, dancing, reading and playing cards. Peggy and Ray were members of the Squarecrows Square Dance Club for 35 years and were also members of the Hampton Seniors Centre, James Bay New Horizons old time dancers and Esquimalt Silver Threads. Her primary focus was her family. She was a true matriarch who kept the family together, keeping up on all of her grandchildrens and great grandchildrens lives. Thanks to the staff of The Lodge at Selkirk Place where Peggy resided since February 2009. She really enjoyed the social activities there. Thanks to Dr. Michael Mawdsley for his care over the years. Thanks also to the nurses and aides on 7N at Victoria General Hospital for their special attention during Peggys final days. A memorial service for Peggy will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM at New Life Community Fellowship, 3900 Carey Road (at Tillicum Road enter off Whiteside Street), Victoria, BC. Reception to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peggys memory to the Victoria Epilepsy & Parkinsons Centre Society (VEPC Society), 813 Darwin Ave., Victoria, BC V8X 2X7 would be appreciated.
