Hutchings, Sandra Lee – November 30, 2021
Hutchings/Walker, Carey Anne – June 17, 2021
On Tuesday, 30 th of November I lost the love of my life, Sandra Hutchings to numerous health issues. She is survived by her loving husband, Derrek, sometimes son Barry, sister Shirley Holiday and brother Jim Trumbley (Deb). Sandy was pre deceased by our daughter, Carey Ann Walker (Scott), her mother Sylvia and father Henry. She leaves behind our Granddaughter, Lyndsay (Mike), Great Grandchildren, Robert, Ilyanna and Mason, numerous nieces, nephews and family.
Sandy was born in Calgary, Alberta and in her early teens left for Victoria, working various jobs, including owning her own business for 12 years. She spent many years with Derrek and family up at Honeymoon Bay in the summer at our campsite with many, many wonderful memories.
Carey gave this following poem to Sandy and it means so much I wanted to include it.
They say There is a Reason. They say that time will heal
But neither time nor reason, will change the way I feel.
For no-one knows the heartache, that lies behind my smile
No-one knows how many times I have broken down and cried
I want to tell you something so there won’t be any doubt,
You’re so wonderful to think of but so hard to be without
Sandy requested no flowers or service. Sandy’s and some of Carey’s ashes will be spread on Lake Cowichan at a later date as per her wishes.
