Shari Lyn Van Beek (nee Duff)

March 30, 1965 - April 23, 2025

Born and raised in Victoria, BC, Shari was a local Island girl. She settled in Sooke with her husband Edward to raise their family. She loved cheering on her children at their sporting events and took great pride in being their biggest supporter. A lifetime animal lover, Shari surprised us often with new additions to the farm, housing and finding homes for animals in need.

Known for her quick wit and warm spirit, Shari had a way of making those around her feel at ease. Many families in the area will remember her as the founder of Bee Bop Boutique Childrens' consignment shop. She loved the conversations with her customers, finding joy in those daily connections. She was a proud volunteer at the Sooke Food Bank, where her kindness and generosity touched many lives.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, September 14th at 12:30 pm at the Sooke Legion Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sooke Food Bank can be made in her honour.
