Sheila May Laughlin, a loving mother and friend, dedicated nurse, and spirited traveler, embarked on her final journey on May 18, 2025 surrounded by family and those who loved her.
Born on October 4, 1969 in Vancouver, Sheila was devoted to caring for others. As a registered nurse, she brought not only medical skill but also deep compassion to every patient she cared for. Her kindness and steady presence comforted countless individuals and families during their most vulnerable moments.
Outside of her profession, Sheila’s adventurous spirit carried her across the globe. From the sun-warmed beaches of Australia to the bustling streets of London, she embraced cultures, made friends wherever she went, and collected memories that filled her heart with joy. Her stories and photographs were always shared with warmth and wonder, inspiring others to see the world with open eyes.
Sheila was a devoted mother to her daughter Alexis, often bringing her along on adventures. Alexis was her greatest pride, whom she supported unconditionally with wisdom, strength, friendship and love.
Shelia’s legacy is one of care, curiosity, and love. She is survived by her daughter Alexis, mother Lynda, sister Tricia, extended family, and countless friends and colleagues who were touched by her kindness and joyful spirit.
Cancer may have taken Sheila from us, but it could never take her spirit, her kindness, or the memories we cherish. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
A celebration of Sheila's life will be held on Wednesday May 28 at 1:00 pm at the East Delta Hall, 10379 Ladner Trunk Rd, Delta BC.
