Sonia Mae Battle

At 80 years young and with her family by her side, Sonia Battle passed away peacefully in Victoria BC on August 9, 2016. She was predeceased by her son David whom she loved dearly. Sonia will forever be deeply missed by her husband of 43 years Gary, her daughters Sandy, Barbie(Rick), Krissy(Rob) and Sheila (Ralph). Her grandchildren Michael, Brady, Katie, Chad(Michelle) and great grandchildren Paisley and Cela will remember her always. Sonia was a talented artist, often happiest with a sketch pad in her lap or a paintbrush in her hand and always with a dog or cat curled up at her feet. Her family was fortunate that she shared her talents and her love generously and often. She enjoyed playing and working with children and as a Teacher's Aid was able to make a difference in many lives. A walk by the lake in the West Kootenays; a stroll on the beach of one of the Islands around Prince Rupert; or a ramble on a trail in the Logan Lake area were among Mom's favourite past-times. She and Dad walked many enjoyable miles hand in hand. Sonia was a cancer survivor who cherished each new day and her kind, noble and gentle heart is her legacy to her family and all who knew her.
The family is planning a celebration of her life to be held in the Spring.
