Soren (Sam) Thrysoe Poulsen, 81, of Victoria, BC, passed away on March 10, 2017 at the Victoria General Hospital surrounded by his family. Born August 19, 1935, in Oster Hornum, Denmark, he was the son of the late Anders and Anna (Bedste) Poulsen. Sam immigrated to Canada in the 1958 and worked as a finishing carpenter for over 30 years. He loved working with wood and built many beautiful homes. Sam enjoyed fishing and camping with his children. He was an avid garage saler and sold his wares at the Western Speedway flea market. He was an active member of the Victoria Ball Room Society for many years and will be remembered for being "one of the best Cha Cha dancers in Victoria". Sam is survived by his four children: Elaine (James), Michael, Brian (Tina) and Laurie (Aaron). He was the proud grampa of 9 grandchildren: Chelsea (pre-deceased) and Molly, Thomas and Jonathan, Alanis, Cassidy and Paige and Nicholas and Emily. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 1pm to 4pm at Windsor Manner located at 848 Esquimalt Rd, Victoria. Light refreshments will served. This is a scent free event. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetes Foundation. Special thanks to the caring staff at the Victoria General Hospital. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
