Stephen Paul Maloney, born on July 2, 1949, in Victoria, BC, Canada, passed away on October 7th, 2024 11:45pm at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria B.C. He was the beloved son of the late James (Jim) Maloney and Billie Maloney, and the cherished brother of Susan Reid. He is also survived by his Brother Mike (Darla) Maloney, and Sister Sheila (Micheal deceased) Tom. Stephen was a loving father to his sons Marc (Lisa) Maloney and Casey Marshall (Kara) Krome, and a doting grandfather to Kayla and Brendan Maloney as well as Nolan, Jackson, and Charlotte Marshall. He was also a beloved uncle and had many extended family members who adored him.
Stephen's life was marked by his passion for running and, in his later years, walking became an important aspect of his daily routine. He found great joy in spending time with his dear friend Al and his family, going on walks, and sharing coffee. The visits from his grandchildren were a highlight of his life, bringing him immense happiness and fulfillment.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the members at Mount Edwards Court for their unwavering support of Stephen. They would also like to express their appreciation to Dr. Black, Char, Robyn, and all the members of Dr. Black's outreach team, as well as Dr. Woodburn for his years of dedicated service to Stephen. The medical team and nurses at the Royal Jubilee 8 South Palliative Care ward provided exceptional care during Stephen's final days, for which the family is deeply grateful.
Stephen's memory will be cherished by his dear friends Al and Pat, as well as by all those whose lives he touched. His kindness, warmth, and love will be dearly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
