HALL-PATCH, Susan Jean (nee Pappajohn) Born in Vancouver, BC on 5 Dec 1949, passed away in her Victoria home 7 June 2012 with her husband and daughters at her side. Susan grew up in West Vancouver where she studied classical piano, then moved to Victoria to continue her studies with Robin Wood. She settled in the city to marry and to raise a family, and, as Susan Pappajohn, taught piano to students of all ages for over 40 years. Her enthusiasm for life went far beyond music, to the other arts, cooking, family celebrations, gardening, the care of a number of cats, and traveling. She especially loved Japan and regretted being unable to make one last visit there. She is survived by husband Nick, daughters Lucy and Clare, mother Elizabeth Gibbs, brother Peter (Julie), and sisters Nancy (Tony) and Paula (Mike). Susan quickly became a daughter and a sister to her husband's family, and will be missed by Michael and Joan, Andy (Gloria), Jude, Teresa and Cathy Hall-Patch, as well as by her eight nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father James Pappajohn. At Susan's request, there will be no service, but a gathering of those close to her will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations to Victoria Hospice or to the BC Cancer Foundation.
