Thomas Gillespie

Thomas Gillespie passed away on November 26th, 2013 at the age of 68 years. Tom was born in Vancouver and lived most of his life on Vancouver Island and the surrounding gulf islands. He is survived by his son Burke, grandson Kyle and his brothers John and Sandy. Tom was involved with several environmental organizations, loved wildlife and natural areas and spent much of his time counting, banding and caring for birds. Celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 - 1:30-4:00 pm at the Pacific Forestry Centre, 506 Burnside Rd, Victoria, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Rocky Point Bird Observatory, Victoria Natural History Society, Garry Oak Ecosystems Recovery Team(GOMPS), Friends of Ecological Reserves or The BC Western Purple Martin Recovery Program.
