Tom passed away peacefully on July 28, 2018at the age of 90. Tom, born January 31, 1928 in Lapeer, Michigan wasthe youngest child of Ellen (nee Dunham) and Robert Reesor. At a young age he moved to Pouce Coupe. Hecompleted Grade 9 at Pouce Coupe Superior then moved to North Vancouverin 1943. He completed high school at North Vancouver High and enrolled at UBC in1945. Tom was a very intelligent and articulate man. He obtained his Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Physics in 1950 and a Masters of Applied Science in 1952.
Tom spent his entire career at Chevron Standard, later Chevron Canada Resources, working in Calgary, Edmonton and New Orleans. He became Chief Geophysicist in 1982 and retired March 1991 after 39 1/2 years of dedicated service.
Tom was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyedcamping, hiking in the mountains, skiing and running. He was a gifted woodworker making unique toys, bowls, furniture and other wooden items. Tom married Marion (nee Costello) on December 27, 1989. In 1991 Tom and Marion moved to Victoria where Tom took great pleasure working in his beautiful flower gardens and travelling the world in off-season.
Predeceased by mother Ellen Dunham Reesor in 1976, sister Jean Clark of Victoria in 1993, brother John of Ottawa in 2006, and brother Bob who in 1942 was killed in the war. Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Marion. He was a loving and adored father and grandfather of children Ken (Chris) of Ottawa, Carol of Calgary, Cynthia (Stewart) of Lions Bay and Robert (Eva) of Victoria, four grandsons, Rhys, Matthew, Calvin and Tommy, and three granddaughters, Rebecca, Julia, and Madelyn. Tom is also survived by his three stepchildren Michael Costello of Calgary, Brian (Terri) Costello of Toronto and Kari Costello of Victoria.
At Tom's request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or charity of ones choice.
