Thomas Frederick Woodrow

January 3, 1956 – April 28, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Thomas Frederick Woodrow on April 28, 2025, in Sooke, British Columbia, at the age of 69.

Born on January 3, 1956, Thomas was known for his sharp wit, dry humour, and the ability to bring laughter to any room. His perfectly timed jokes and one-liners were legendary among friends and family. Beneath the humour was a deeply loyal and compassionate man who gave his all to those he cared about.

In his retirement, he enjoyed dabbling in various arts and crafts over the years.

He also enjoyed riding on his motorcycle and did numerous trips with Marilyn. Especially memorable was the motorcycle trip to Wing Ding in Madison Wisconsin with the Alberta Goldwing Chapter where they met more wonderful friends and travelled throughout many US states.

Thomas proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 36 years and 1 day. His dedication to service extended far beyond his years in uniform, especially through his work with Aboriginal programs, a cause close to his heart. He found great meaning in building relationships and supporting Indigenous communities through mentorship, respect, and mutual understanding.

Thomas is lovingly remembered by his wife, Marilyn, and his daughters, Nicole and husband Bryon, Danielle and her partner Morgan. 5 grandchildren, Ami, Kate, Thomas, Haylee and newborn Raiden, his sister Linda Jones (Ross) and brother Ken Woodrow (Jackie). He also leaves behind Brothers-in-Law Len Pratt (Deb), David Pratt (Sheryl) also Sister-in-law Evelyn Hill, mother-in-law, Bernice Poliquin several nieces, nephews, dear friends, and fellow service members who will miss him deeply.

His Yorkies Chloe and Dexter as well as his crazy bird Sassy will greatly miss him.

A public gathering to celebrate Thomas’s life will be held on May 11th from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the JdF 55+ Senior Centre. 1767 Island Hwy Victoria, BC.
