On Wednesday, March 24 2021, Timothy Wayne Duplessis, loving husband, father of three and "Papa" to five grandchildren, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at age 59, ending his battle with Cancer. Tim was born to parents Roy and Marjorie Duplessis (predeceased) on January 11 1962 in Strathroy, Ontario. Tim graduated from Bluefield High School in North Wiltshire, PEI where he met the love of his life, Lauri. Tim spent 23 years serving in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Fire Control Technician. Throughout Tim's Navy career, his young family moved from Charlottetown, PEI to Halifax, NS to Victoria, BC where they eventually settled down. After retirement, Tim went on to work at the Canadian Forces Ammunition Depot (CFAD) Rocky Point. Tim will be remembered by family and friends as a selfless man, always thinking of other people before himself. He was a true friend you could turn to when times were good or bad. Tim was a talented artist and woodworker who always had a project on the go. He loved jig-saw puzzles, going on adventures with his grandchildren and spending his summers camping with friends and family. Tim is best described as a hardworking simple man who was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Tim will be lovingly remembered and missed by many including his loving wife Lauri, having shared 38 years of marriage, his children, TJ Duplessis, Jodi (Steven) Scott, Mason (Michelle) Duplessis, his grandmother, Robina Gaddis, his brother, Daryll (Barbara) Duplessis and his five beautiful grandchildren, Tia, Jayce, Wyatt, Callum and Isla.
His family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation for the kindness and excellent care Tim received on the Oncology Palliative Care Unit at the Royal Jubilee Hospital.
Due to Covid, there will be a Celebration of Life to honour Tim at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
