Victoria Lynn Mosses

d. March 21, 2015

Vicki passed away on a beautiful sunny day with her loving family at her bedside. She is predeceased by her Father Stanley R. Wallis (1973), and her Mom Sylvia J. Shandley (1999). Left to mourn her loss is her husband of more than 30 years, Robert Mosses, her treasured children Gord and his wife Angela, along with her two granddaughters, Kennedy and Paige, who were the light of her life. Vicki also leaves her beautiful daughter Lindsey and Fiancee Robbie Holmes who are to be married in July of this year. Vicki so wanted to be there. She is also survived by her sister and best friend Cindy Erdmann and husband Ken, who together welcomed Vicki into their home, offering love and support unconditionally for the last year. Vicki is survived by her loving brother Pat Wallis and family in Ontario, her half sister Lorraine Strandlund of Victoria and her step dad Robert Shandley, who continues to offer his love and support. Special mention to her Uncle Ray and Auntie Shirl Wallis WHO treated Vicki as one of their own. It meant so much to her. Vicki's support team, cousins Gloria Rant and Kathy Elwell were so special to Vicki and to her sister Cindy with all their love and caring. Vicki's friends Tracey and Carol who took her to chemo and radiation appts, her angels. Her friend and paperwork guru, Karen Hathaway, without whose help we would still be trying to fill out the paperwork! Thank you. Vicki had a huge family of Aunts and Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who were always there with a smile and encouraging word. Vicki was always involved in Gord and Lindsey's sports and adventures. She was on the Executive of both Hampton and Layritz Little League ball clubs. She worked tirelessly in the concessions of both clubs, earning the title of Burger Queen! Vicki worked as a legal secretary for almost 30 years, then found her calling in Health Care where she touched many lives, making it hard to leave when her cancer became too much for her. She cared so much for her co-workers, friends and residence. She also continued to work at the Esquimalt Bingo Hall as a cook, where she got so much gratification feeding the masses and connecting with her Bingo Family. Thank you so much to her GP Dr. R.D. Nicoll who always made Vicki smile even when the news wasn't always good. Also to her Cancer Clinic Team for the wonderful care. To the Esquimalt-WestShore Home care nurses who came every week and left with Vicki's awesome homemade chocolate chip cookies! To the Palliative Response Team who came to our rescue on the day Vicki passed...you are amazing! A huge thank you to Aunty Bicki who always had candy bags ready for the grand kids when they came by! There are so many people whose lives Vicki touched, and truthfully it would take a novel to acknowledge you all individually, but please know Vicki cared so much for each and everyone of you. A huge thank you also to Chris and Susan of Earth's Option for making the transitions smooth for us with kind words and willing hearts. Vicki will be so deeply missed and always remembered with love. Thanks to all of you that have sent flowers and cards and meals to our home to assist us in getting through these next few weeks.
