Violet Mary Murray

Violet passed away at the Broadmead Care on Friday, March 24, 2017, peacefully and is gone to the Lord. Born in Victoria BC November 6, 1924, the only child of Walter and Mary Stanley. Educated by the wonderful Sisters of St. Ann's Acedemy. Married Ken Murray from Winnipeg on May 6, 1944 at St. Andrews Cathedral. They met at a bus stop. 1945 to 1989 lived and worked in Vancouver BC where she cared for her 3 men, Ken, Neil and Bryan while pursuing a career selling advertising for 3 major dallies The News Herald, The Province and The Sun. 1989 December, returned to Victoria, a city she loved with a passion, settling in Cordova Bay where they enjoyed the happiest 9 years of their lives until Ken's death in 1998. A member of Our Lady of Fatima Church where she made wonderful friends and had a deep love and respect for the Portuguese people. Predeceased by Ken and Bryan. Survived by one son Neil. Sincere thanks to Saanich Peninsula Care, The Lodge at Broadmead and Dr. Peter Houghton. Solemn wish that everyone her life had ever touched be blessed.
