Werner Niklaus Rothlisberger passed away peacefully on March 13, 2024 in Victoria, BC, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and kindness. Born on February 10, 1944 in Zurich, Switzerland, Werner's life was a testament to hard work, culinary passion, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life.
Known for his wit and sense of humour, Werner brought joy to many. Trained as a professional chef, his love for cooking was evident in every dish he prepared. Whether he was in the kitchen or enjoying a delicious meal, Werner's love for food was a constant source of happiness in his life. His passion also shone through in his many years in hospitality at Dunsmuir Lodge and the Deep Cove Chalet, where he touched the lives of many with his warmth and charm.
Werner found joy and fulfillment in country music, skiing and enjoying the beauty of the West Coast. His acts of kindness, whether through his culinary creations, floral arrangements, or the gift of quality time, he touched the lives of all who knew him.
Werner will be deeply missed by his daughters, Sonja Martins (Dave) and Corina Ludwig (Stefan), his remaining siblings Heinz and Ueli Rothlisberger, and their extended families. His spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love and gratitude of those whose lives he enriched.
A private family service will be held to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, please enjoy a good meal with those you love.
