William ‘Bill' Hann

HANN, William Charles (Bill) passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, after a sixteen-month battle with brain cancer. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Maureen, and his little treasures Alexander, 6, and Samantha, 4, as well as his Mum and Dad, Lavinia & Bob, sister Joelle, Maureens parents, Dianne & Terry, and her sister, Mia, and family. Bill was born in Victoria on June 8, 1975, and the family moved to Salt Spring Island six weeks later. Bill attended elementary school on Salt Spring and later moved to St. Michaels University School in Victoria. Following graduation, Bill attended Bishops University in Lennoxville, Quebec, earning a Bachelors degree in Business Management. After university, Bill learned to fly, then flew floatplanes in the Queen Charlottes, before going to the Maldives for six months. On his return to Canada, Bill flew with Harbour Air, Central Mountain Air, and then achieved a life long dream of flying for WestJet. Bill was hardworking, yet always eager to help anyone in need, friend or stranger. His wonderful, dry sense of humor and gentle manner made him friends wherever he went. He was also a devoted family man who loved being a husband and a dad. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. No flowers please.
