W J Irving (Bill) Bill popped off peacefully due to complications from vascular dementia on March 21, 2014. Born in London England, August 13 1936 after finishing school, joined the British Army krrc as a rifle man in company 'A' and was posted in Germany; travelled to Libia , Bahrain , Burma, attached to the U N peace keeping corp. After leaving the army, married his best mates (Bert Jones) sister (Barbara) and worked in London for the express dairy, Gibs n Dandy, and Taylors Upholstery where he learnt his trade, immigrated(thanks dad) to Canada and became a Canadian citizen in the mid 1960s and worked as an upholsterer and eventually owning James Bay Upholstery and teaching his trade at the V I S D C and Camosun college, Bill enjoyed salmon fishing camping and travelling, at home anywhere he was, always said he could sleep on a clothesline. Bill was predeceased by his parents and brother John; survived by sisters Rita and Phylis (Mick), brother Ron (Pat) and two children Cliff (Joanne) Christine (Dave) and a few grandchildren. Thanks to the staff at Ayre Manor Sooke BC. No service and a small gathering at a later date. Donations to the Sooke Elderly Citizens Housing Society.
