William Turner

d. October 19, 2013

The salmon must feel a little bit safer; Bill Turner has finally joined his daughter Shirley and son Steven after a valiant fight with dementia. Bill had only two seasons; fishing and curling; he spent the rest of the time annoying Marion, his wife of 57 years, and indulging in a questionable relationship with his TV. Bill also loved spending time with his sons families; Pat and Heather; Mark and Claudia and grandkids; Ryan, Caitlin and his favourite (in Victoria) Josef. Bill had many friends and family who it seems appreciated his impish sense of humour, an infectious laugh (loudest at the Happy Fisherman cake), a love for dancing (anything by ABBA) and a willingness not to let a friend drink alone. Does Bill sound like a great husband, father and friend? He was - well miss you Bill. The family would like to acknowledge the amazing care given from the staff from Royal Jubilees Two South West ward that took such good care of Bill.
A service will be held at Queen of the Peace Church, 849 Old Esquimalt Road on Thursday October 24th, 2013 at 12:10 p.m. A celebration of life will continue at the Victoria Curling Club, 1952 Quadra Street from 2:00-5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society of B.C. by clicking above.
