January 3, 1965 - August 8, 2022

It is with extreme sadness that we must announce the passing of Yolanda Jackson (née Stojić). Born in Ljubač, Croatia, her family moved to Canada in 1971. She was raised in Canal Flats, BC before settling in Victoria, BC. Yolanda passed away peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospital surrounded by her loving husband of nearly 31 years, Andrew and her two children that she would refer to as her pride and joy, son Jayme and daughter Ashley.

Predeceased by her father Ivan, Yolanda is survived by her mother Ratka, two sisters Vesna (Ivan) and Gordana (Steve) as well as nieces, Karla, Emily, Olivia, Georgia, and nephews Steven, Justin, Brendan and Brayden.

Yolanda courageously fought metastatic breast cancer for the last three years, never losing the smile on her face or her sense of humour. She always said that laughter was the best medicine and she made sure to spread plenty of that to everyone around her. We are so proud of the strength and positivity Yolanda showed throughout her journey, never complaining about herself and always thinking about others. Yolanda’s bright spirit, selflessness for others and love for her family will always be remembered.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday August 16, 2022 at St. Leopold Mandic Croatian Catholic Church, 4081 Gordon Head Rd.

The family would like to thank Dr. Vanessa Bernstein and the BC Cancer Agency nurses, as well as the palliative care unit at Royal Jubilee Hospital for their comfort, support and care.

The family will be participating in CIBC Run for the Cure in memory of Yolanda on October 2, 2022.
