CORBEIL, Zeta Kathleen Katie (nee Neill) July 1, 1923 July 15, 2014 It is with deep, deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother Katie (Zeta Kathleen Corbeil) at the age of 91. Mom passed away peacefully in the arms of family on July 15th, 2014. Predeceased by Dad in 1987 (Sylvio), and survived by her five children; James (Erna), Colleen (Robert), Judith, Keith and Melonie (Gerald), and her three grandchildren; Zeta, David and Kaitlan. Also survived by her step-children Mary and Delores and pre-deceased by her step-son Bernard. Also survived by her step grand-children; Julie, Sue, Paul, Billy, Bernadette and Diane. Born in Craighurst, Ontario, meeting and marrying the love of her life, Sylvio in 1940, together they raised their family both in Ontario and in British Columbia, where Mom will ultimately be laid to rest next to her sweetheart. Moms laughter and sharp wit were infectious to everyone she encountered. Our Mother was so loved and will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit, attentive ear and gentle yet confident guidance to family, friends and colleagues. When her children were young, she often became the go to Mom because of her special love and understanding of children. Her generosity and kindness warmed the hearts of all those that were fortunate enough to know her. A devoutly patriotic Canadian and strong supporter of the Canadian Armed Forces and Veterans, Mom raised her children to exude the virtues of a proud military family. Our family would like to convey our sincere thanks to all friends and family who gave their constant support and a special thanks to the staff of the Broadmead Lodge in Victoria for their kind and excellent care of our Mother. A small graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014 at 11:00am, at the Veterans Cemetery Gods Acre, 1190 Colville Road, Victoria, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to the charity of your choice.
