Update - February 28, 2019
February 28, 2019
So far to date we have been frustrated with Minister Mike Farnworth's office who is the Minister who could make Bio-Cremation a reality in BC, very simply by creating a definition in the regulations that would define cremation and include Alkaline Hydrolysis. His office is using stall tactics saying that becaue no other interest groups feel this is a priority and the Ministry is unwilling to divert any resources to making the simple change in the regulation. Unfortunately the BC Government talks about our climate action plan but does little to do anything about it except implement new taxes....but I digress. On a positive note, I have had some good conversations and support from my MLA, Mitzi Dean, the Green Party of Canada candidate David Merner (nice guy by the way), and a letter of support from the Canadian Federation of Independent Business.
I knew this was going to be an uphill battle, but I honestly thought the Province would see this as a no brainer!
In the meantime, if you wish to help the cause, I encourage you to write Minister Farnworth at Mike.Farnworth.MLA@leg.bc.ca, and copy anyone at the Legislature that you feel has a sincere interest in the environment.
Till next time!
Chris
